I’m Elizabeth Dehn, aka Bets, an editor and writer who was born with a beauty junkie gene. Which means, to me there’s nothing better then a good facial, the perfect shade of lip gloss, and a volumizer that actually works. Any suggestions?

I grew up in Minneapolis, making face masks for my friends and spending my babysitting money on Mood lipstick and lavender eyeshadow. I haven’t worn either since the seventh grade (but would for money). My product obsession led to stints with Aveda, Kiehl’s, and Target, and writing gigs with Fashion Weekly, Everyday with Rachael Ray, Minnesota Monthly, and the Star Tribune. I also serve as the regular beauty contributor to Twin Cities Live television, where I get to talk about my favorite subject (life is hard).

Since for some crazy reason not everyone wants to visit spas for a living or spend Saturdays experimenting with liquid liner, I’ll take those for the team. At Beauty Bets you can expect an honest, personal, and (fingers crossed) witty guide to the beauty products, treatments, and trends that make life infinitely better—plus a few that I think are total crap. Disclaimer: I have a weakness for pink champagne, pretty packaging, and Bobbi Brown cosmetics—all of which can cloud my judgement but, like the super annoying sunspot on my right cheek, build character.
