My shaving days down there may be over thanks to the power of lasers, but for anyone still wielding ye old razor, Project FIG is for you. Born out of one woman’s personal frustration upon re-entering the dating world and discovering that an extremely well-groomed vaj is a prerequisite, this intimate grooming line helps minimize irritation, ingrown hairs, razor burn and those dreaded red bumps that accompany most exotic shaving expeditions.

There’s a shave gel, soothing serum, exfoliant, and hair-growth inhibitor, which work best as a system. Even if I don’t need them, I can definitely appreciate that Project FIG is all-natural and facial-quality. If it’s gentle enough for your face you better believe it’s a-okay for your you-know-what.
I’m curious: Do any of you still shave your bikini zone, and if so how’s that going for you?

Hello lovelies! I'm Elizabeth Dehn, a beauty writer + lifestyle editor who's equally fanatical about lip gloss as juice cleansing. I live in Minneapolis with Mr. Bets and our white lab, Molly Thomas . . .

How did you know I needed this? For after waxing, but I hate ingrowns!! Several of your posts have been spot on for me lately (herbalist, Suja) – probably a sign I should keep reading! :)
@aileen – it’s all about exfoliation after you wax to avoid in growns! This should help. Let me know what else you need and I’ll get on it :)
I used to shave from time to time but I really don’t see the point. Very few men keep their nether regions smooth, so why should I? I once had a guy tell me it made it easier to find. To which I responded “If you can’t find it, you shouldn’t be having sex.”
First, Amanda that is fantastic & funny.
Second, I have no idea how to groom that region. Do u take it all off? Do you leave a strip? If a strip do u trim it? How much of a strip? Etc…. What’s the most flattering? I need answers!
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for the write up! Send your readers over to http://www.projectfig.com where under FIG 101 you will find best practices. We are all about healthy skin whether you shave, wax or do nothing at all. Viva la full bush! Ingrowns can be a problem for anyone, learn how to minimize getting them and maximize healing them!

Although I no longer shave “down there” I’ve always kept my body shape into consideration when trimming her up. I’ve found that when I feel my hips are bigger a triangle looks best. When I was more narrow in the hip a “landing strip” (or line) looks great. Just do what you feel the most confident with. Unfortunately that often takes a few missteps to figure out what exactly that is.
