Five pounds, to be exact. Although weight loss was not the reason for my kale and quinoa season—I’ll take it. In fact, I’ve decided to continue my detox for another month to make sure all of these good habits stick. With a few minor exceptions. Like, I’m allowing myself a piece of dark chocolate every day (c-c-c-crazy!), a couple cups of caffeinated coffee each week, and red wine when I really, really need it (but only on weekends). Just enough liberation to keep me sane but not so much that I spiral out of control. Let’s get this party started, yo.

Hello lovelies! I'm Elizabeth Dehn, a beauty writer + lifestyle editor who's equally fanatical about lip gloss as juice cleansing. I live in Minneapolis with Mr. Bets and our white lab, Molly Thomas . . .

How do you feel other than 5 lbs lighter? More energy? Sleeping better?
I will join you in your “add another month” quest, with a few exceptions (like a little dark chocolate now and then).
Hi Elizabeth! So, it’s been a while since I’ve visited your site, as I’m mostly throwing myself into the food bloggin world. Anyway I was reading about your cleanse, and think you might enjoy some of my quinoa and kale recipes, particularly this one: http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2012/09/kale-edamame-and-quinoa-salad-with-lemon-vinaigrette/
