And here I thought it was good genes, her personal trainer, and a gluten-free diet. But according to the Daily Mail, Jennifer Aniston looks like she’s 43 going on 23 because she schmears petroleum jelly under here eyes every night to keep crow’s feet at bay. I’m starting to rethink my eye cream choices. Then again, Vaseline does little more than create a barrier, sealing moisture in but not actually feeding the skin. (Note: Petrolatum is also considered potentially cancer-causing by most natural-beauty authorities, and while no studies have ever shown a direct link, petrolatum is on a list of dangerous substances in the EU).

Aniston also gives herself a daily facial steam and massage (love), follows with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (don’t love) and uses Vitamin E on shins and elbows. But it’s the $3 vat of Vaseline that has me curious. Have I been missing out? Do you have a thing for Vaseline, too?

Hello lovelies! I'm Elizabeth Dehn, a beauty writer + lifestyle editor who's equally fanatical about lip gloss as juice cleansing. I live in Minneapolis with Mr. Bets and our white lab, Molly Thomas . . .

1. Don’t trust a word you read in the DM.
2. Vaseline is harmless, and works very well as a cheap skin protector.People have been using it for 150+ YEARS.
3. Jennifer Aniston is *probably* not telling the entire story. <<>> cosmetic surgery.
Vaseline is nothing special. In my experience, plant oils work better and actually improve the condition of skin versus just “protecting” it. …and they’re not derived from petroleum.
I’m not buying this DM story. I’m sure she uses these products occasionally…in addition to plenty of high end beauty products and doctor/spa appointments.
my mom has used vaseline for YEARS to remove eye makeup.
Vaseline just sits on top of your skin and actually does nothing to hydrate it whatsoever. Olive oil might be a better solution for crows feet if there wasn’t the minor details of it getting into your eyes!
I would never use vaseline!
Argan oil is great for skin and it doesn’t cause breakouts. NOT even on oily skin! (which i have)
Also, coconut oil a nice treat. Great for lips too!!
I would & have used these products under my eyes. (careful, of course NOT to get into the eye)
I tend to switch back and forth with products because i get bored.
My mom has been using Vaseline for years in the same way and has hardly any eye wrinkles. I’m seriously thinking about going that route and quit buying all the different miracle creams.
wow i love this site very educational i’m learning a lot. thanks to you..anyways visit this site for discounts up to 60% saversclub.us.
sounds like nonsense. she’s obsessive about expensive spa treatments and an organic home chef. no way she’s putting on $3 petroleum jelly on the most delicate and telling skin on her face. not only does this stuff clog pores, possibly cause cancer, and gunk up your hair and sheets- it suffocates your skin, not allowing it to breathe or repair during night sleep. i’ve read this everywhere but please don’t try it!
Vaseline is good to use but I have found that a dab of Preparation H works wonders also. I dab a tiny bit under my eyes when I get out of the shower in the evenings. It tightens the delicate skin under the eyes.
I tried Vaseline for a while, and I must confess that it worked quite well. I especially had the feeling that the lines around my eyes were less visible. I think the main problem of the skin at night is oxidation, since it doesn’t have to fight of UVA and UVB so Vaseline works just fine.
But I changed to Pomegranate Oil, which works just as well and also nourishes the skin. Doesn’t burn my eyes either and smells delicious.
Vaseline does not t cause cancer ! Then why the hell are they selling it then??? I believe Vaseline is an Gold standard in Skin care!!!
(Vaseline and petrolatum is safe, they even use it straight into the eyes in hospitals and has done so for ages with no damaging effects)
Its non conmengenic (doesn’ clog pores) create an occlusive barrier to help prevent transedermal water loss!
So what i been doing for 40 years is layering all my serums and cream with Vaseline its helps seal the moisture and locking in those active ingredients to helps penetrate the skin and keeping out bacteria and oxidations .
no matter how you look at it she looks good for her age… 23 no but then neither do I, but there is some stock in what is said… high price does not mean it will work… I like vaseline it keeps my skin soft ….. and I look great for 48…. I look 33…… so I’d say ladies rethink your routines and go back to basics.
No bleeping way she looks 23!! She looks like she is at least 37 to me LIARS!!!
listen bitches, she doesnt look 23, she looks way older than that, but if you you wanna look younger than your age, try these little beauty secret which i dont mind sharing. mix egg white, milk, and oatmeal. apply on face and neck let it stand for 30mins. repeat 3x a week for 2 weeks. You will see the difference, your deep crow feet wrinke will become unnoticeable, your fine lines will vanish..FOREVER :)
I just discovered this too! Vaseline is the best! In just one application the skin just seems to absorb it; as if its been thirsty for years! But Yeah! I believe it!
I agree with Joy, plastic surgery! She’s had probably more than you think.
I use vaseline and socks three times a week. Great for smooth feet
I actually just stopped using Vaseline about a year ago, and here’s why. I have used it since my early teens (I’m 43, nonsmoker) to remove eye makeup. While it did remove the makeup, the force you have to apply in order to get the Vaseiline off stretches the skin around your eyes and hasn’t kept the wrinkles away. In fact, I’ve been wondering also if the use of Vaseline after all these years may have something to do with my rapidly deteriorating vision. I use to live and swear by it, but after all these years, I no longer recommend it.
Have used vaseline to remove my eye make up since high school….. I’ll be 60 in Feb. Would never change!
There is un-petrolium jelly that is natural so if you’re worried about petroleum give that a try! My grandmother’s doctor told her to do this, and it def works!
When someone writes an piece of writing he/she maintains the image of a user in his/her mind that how a user can know it.
So that’s why this piece of writing is outstdanding. Thanks!
The Alba Bontanicals un-Petroleum jelly is amazing! Stays on better than Vaseline, and no chemicals. I layer it on after applying my eye cream, to seal in the moisture.
@Kellie – You are so right! Too many natural alternatives to use petroleum. Alba is a good one!
I love Vaseline, I see why she likes it too. You can read about multiple beauty uses for vaseline at:
