Hello from my happy place in the mountains, where I will be the entire week—NOT blogging, emailing, texting, tweeting, facebooking or doing my hair. I’m calling it a technology detox, something I’ve been easing into since reading this eye-opening post. Because as much as I love that I can connect with just about anyone at any given moment in a matter of seconds doesn’t mean I should. Especially at the expense of experiencing life. Oh yes, I’m going to cheesytown with this post. But when I consider simpler times (aka 1985), people were more focused on each other—or nature or the amazing bowl of pasta in front of them—than on their iPhone. And probably felt a whole lot more connected. Ponder that this week, and maybe take a day or a night off from all the noise should the spirit move you. This blog still be here when you return! xo —Elizabeth

Hello lovelies! I'm Elizabeth Dehn, a beauty writer + lifestyle editor who's equally fanatical about lip gloss as juice cleansing. I live in Minneapolis with Mr. Bets and our white lab, Molly Thomas . . .

What mountains? Near Minneapolis? I love to hear about new getaway destinations. Of course, you’ll be gone for the next week. Ugh. Well, enjoy – it’s well deserved.
Best. Idea. Ever. It is so refreshing to be unplugged…even more so when it’s a conscious decision versus happenstance (the cabin just doesn’t have cell reception).

nice! enjoy your time away!
So happy to hear you are detoxing!! Enjoy your time “electronically off.” : )

A technology detox is such a good idea! I attempted to go a whole day without my lap top and cell phone, and for the time I lasted it was definitely freeing! Going without technology is a great way to ensure a full relaxation!
