I’ve been having way more fun than usual with nail polish. Some days I find myself building outfits around my nail color, which is either incredibly sad or incredibly smart. Turns out, nail polish is the easiest accessory on earth! (what? you already new that?!). I’ve been looking for the perfect red-orange to make my hands look tan and my generally neutral get-ups look more summery. Here it is: Essie Too Too Hot, from the brand’s 2011 summer collection.

There’s something about this retro shade that classes up the joint without looking too tropical or trendy. Do you like, or do you loooove?
P.S. – The entire collection is brillz, especially Absolutely Shore, a pale seafoam green I can’t wait to get my mits on.

Hello lovelies! I'm Elizabeth Dehn, a beauty writer + lifestyle editor who's equally fanatical about lip gloss as juice cleansing. I live in Minneapolis with Mr. Bets and our white lab, Molly Thomas . . .

Pretty, pretty! I love it!
Looks like a 4th of July must-have to me! (and summer in general). Fabulous find!
i have 4/6 of the essie summer collection (i know, surprise) and i think you ought to try the blue one … i promise it’s amazing! essies are the best.
Oooh, I love! My perfect red-orange has been OPI ‘a good mandarin is hard to find’… but I’ve been looking for a good alternative. Of course I found it here :)
I LOVE Essie’s summer collection! Anything this shade makes me happy!
Of course you do, Kara. And you know me too well – I was planning to steer clear of that blue but will give her a whirl!
I have a feeling that the photo doesn’t do the color justice. I have an amazing coral from Essie that is similar to this but more orange than red. I’m obsessed.
PS here is my perfect Essie coral. This photo doesn’t do it justice, it’s the *perfect* coral.

You mean you don’t like my mad iphone skillz?
LIke it – way better than that gray stuff!
FIfth Avenue is my favorite red from Essie. And I love the Chinchilly for wintertime nails. And I’m avoid to test out a couple of those polishes myself from the summer collection.
