OMG. I feel like one of those crazy, screaming starstruck girls I make fun of all the time. But after joking about it I actually met Mark Ruffalo backstage at this weekend’s Independent Spirit Awards. He just strolled by the Aveeno Active Naturals press tent where I was covering the event and suddenly I was overcome with an uncontrollable desire to run over and act like the fool I swore I would never, ever be (celebrities are people too, you know). Alas. It was totally worth it. I can’t even look at this picture without giggling. If you haven’t seen The Kids Are Alright by now, let this be your excuse!
Other highlights: Walking the red carpet (which was technically gray) with Taye Diggs and Kate Walsh, meeting 24 fabulous beauty bloggers, jogging along the beach, and staying at the breathtaking Shutters on the Beach (below), where we sipped champagne in the bar alongside Goldie Hawn, who is every bit as beautiful as you’ve imagined.
The after-party at The Viceroy Hotel was more glam than my entire life put together. This was my view from a leather chaise of Jon Hamm in JEANS (I die.), talking to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Amber Tamblyn, Arrested Development’s hilar Tony Hale, and The Hangover’s Zach Galifianakis in his signature beard. There’s a reason I’m not a member of the paparazzi.
