July 12

I normally don’t broadcast these things, but now that there’s a blog and all of you lovely readers I might as well own it. I’m 33 today! That totally does not roll off the tongue. Then again—nothing after the age of 28 every really did. Does 33 make me a triple threat? Is 33 times the charm? Lucky number 33? Good gracious I am trying hard and failing miserably at aging gracefully. Which is why I’ve made a list of wishes, for myself and for anyone who feels the same about getting older. Cheers!

1. Stop setting goals. For 30 days, just be. I tried this once, at the behest of a holistic healer, and it was the best, most freeing month of my life.

2. Wear more color. Starting with fuchsia lipstick.

3. Love unconditionally.

4. If you’re going to put your hair in a pony, at least make it cute.

5. Heed the advice of my fearless friend Sarah Von at yesandyes.org.

6. Stop fretting that my hair is never going to look like this. And that’s okay.

7. Make more YouTube videos—because they’re fun and it’s time to admit that I’m a camera whore.

8. Work out 6 days a week. I say this every year.

9. Give drugstore beauty products a chance. Who KNOWS what I’ve been missing out on.

10. Get ballsy with my beauty routine. Maybe I’ll go crazy this year and color my hair.
