I’ve had a series of near-miss bad hair days this week. First there was the new “moisturizing” shampoo that left my locks limp and greasy. (This is when testing products is not so glamorous.) Then there was the morning I overslept and chose to catch up on Sandy and Co. instead of bathing. Two potential crisis, averted by my latest Target impulse purchase: Tresemmé Fresh Start Waterless Foam Shampoo. It’s new, it’s $3.99. I had v. low expectations, namely because it’s $3.99, but also because I seem to be the only person on the planet who hasn’t been bowled over by dry shampoo. No matter what I try (apparently not this one), my hair still looks and feels like it needs to be washed. Freshstart is different. It’s a mousse, not a spray or a powder. You pump a glob out into your hand, then run it through your hair, focusing at the roots. It feels wet momentarily, then poof—dry, fresh hair. No stickiness, no residue, just clean-looking hair. And the volume! This I was not expecting—and you know how hard it is to come by. For an added boost, I blasted my roots with a blow-drier. Oo la la.
