There’s no gift that could possibly make up for the headaches and sleepless nights I’ve caused my mother. So for this Hallmark holiday I like to treat her to something completely frivolous, superficial, and fantastically beautiful. Basically, anything that she wouldn’t buy herself is fair game.
Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss Trio ($40)
I regret to inform you that no woman can ever have enough Bobbi Brown. The lip gloss is particularly a problem because it looks like candy. This trio has all the best shades to brighten any mom’s face—literally. These little tubes are major glow getters. And this week you’ll get a travel-sized Crystal Lip Gloss and EXTRA Balm Rinse with code: FAVES1, plus free shipping on all orders over $65.

Sula Lovebirds Perfume Oil ($18)
Rollerballs are so sweet and nostalgic, not to mention a treat to tuck in your purse and discover midday. I would be obsessed with these for the packaging alone, but they also happen to smell lovely, too. The Fresh is light, grassy, with hint of lime and citrus. The Tropical is richer, with notes of vanilla, coconut, and pineapple. They are both incredibly sheer—perfect for spring.
Nars So Famous Gift Set ($40) Here’s something my mom would never buy for herself, but would secretly swoon over. It’s got all the trappings of a fresh and dewy look for spring: a mini Orgasm Multiple (a beachy illuminator), and full-size versions of Deep Throat Blush (shimmery peach) and Bettina Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (a natural rose-beige lip color). On second thought, probably best not to tell her her names of any of the products.
Infusion Organique Scent Diffuser ($56)
Flowers wither and die, but a diffuser lasts for months. Once again, I first fell for the packaging of this new company. Then I got a whiff of the tart acai berries and sparkling organic orange oil. It’s like a rain forest for your home
p.s. – If you missed Friday’s post, pop over for some hilarious and touching stories about what Beauty Bets readers have learned about lipstick, bribery, and hot rollers from their mothers.

I recently purchased some of the Orgasmic Nars cosmetics and LOVE them! Per a much earlier post, I selected Fresh products for my mom’s Mother’s Day parcel…I also talked Stacey into another of your favorites, the Fresh tinted lip balm (Rose).
Your blog has been an invaluable source of good info – thanks!
Suz, your mom is one lucky lady . . . you KNOW how I feel about Fresh!
I only remember the good things about being you mother….and look forward to something completely frivolous on Mother’s Day!
[...] If you’re a fan of 30 Rock then you’re more accustomed to seeing Elizabeth Banks playing a news anchor with big hair and pastel makeup. But last night at the Met’s Costume Institute Gala she nailed the whole modern ’60s thing in a way that’s enough to make me want go blonde. The feathered Gucci dress and tight body don’t hurt either, but let’s talk about the one thing we can all have: those killer cat eyes. Now before you go and shut down at the thought of liquid eyeliner, please note that there was none involved. In fact, all it took was little NARS Pandora Duo Eyeshadow. You can re-create the look by using an angled brush to line eyes with the black power. When you reach the outer corner, build it out slightly into a triangle. Then, dab the inner corners of eyes with the white powder for a brightening effect. Voilà—you’re channeling Brigette Bardot. I should add that Bank’s glowing peach cheeks are courtesy of NARS Amour Blush, a fantastic alternative to bronzer, especially for you fair-skinned lasses. And the pale nude lips? NARS Bettina Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, which you may recall from yesterday’s Mother’s Day Gift Guide! [...]
