A couple of weeks ago I was on a photo shoot interviewing Lynda Spring, a makeup artist from Chicago by way of London and Paris (who just happens to keep the cast of Glee looking like flawlessly fresh teenagers). When I asked about her mascara of choice she replied conspiratorially: “Well you can put down DiorShow, but THIS is my absolute favorite—you just can’t get it stateside.” This was a plump, plum-colored tube of Britain-based Boots No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara. I stepped a little bit closer, trying to keep myself from snatching it out of her hands. I had never seen anything like it: 
It looked more like a device than a mascara wand, and I totally wanted it. Yesterday, on my weekly whirl through Target’s beauty aisles, I got my wish. The mascara just launched in the U.S. and it looked rather regal sitting on the neon-lit shelf. Unfort, I can’t try it yet—the only downfall of having eyelash extensions. I’m leaving it up to you to try and report back, stat!

I’m so excited to try this! I have been using Armani mascara and it’s just not worth the $40 a bottle.

I went to target yesterday and they were all sold out!!! they did however have a $1 off coupon so hopefully i can get my hands on some soon!
Uhhhh! It is still sold out everywhere!!! its crazy.. anyways i bought boots lash 360 mascara and LOVE it. Its like the perfect everyday mascara. It doesnt feel dry and clumpy like most cheaper mascaras. When you put it on your lashes are still soft, clump free, and its great for my sensitive eyes!
Sold out? Wow that was fast! Interesting that there was only a small display at Target – not very many tubes to begin with. Glad you found an alternative!
I bought this at Target last week after seeing this blog posting. YUCK! I did not care for it!! I thought the wand was too bendy/flexible and the mascara is too thick and clumpy. It made a mess on my lashes. I’ll stick with Maybelline Stilletto.
@Stephanie – so sorry! I’m hearing mixed reviews . . . mascara is such a personal thing! You know I love the Stilletto so can’t blame you!
I just tried the mascara and I was impressed because it was not clumpy. I even did a few layers to see what would happen and was impressed with the results. It makes me look like I have huge eye lashes, but not in a scary way. Do you have any tips on how to apply mascara? Is it recommended to blot it with some tissue before application? I have read some blogs where people do that.
I also love the Maybelline Stiletto. Has anyone tried the Voluptuous Stiletto? Almost bought that as well, the brush is all curvy. I will buy it next time.
As far as expensive mascara goes, I had some blue Dior Show about 2 years ago and LOVED it. The brush is intense!
@Hayley – What fine reporting! I don’t usually wipe off anything more than the tip of my mascara wand, but you can scrape of extra on the inside of the tube, too. Tissue would prob just wind up on the wand. I still need to try out the Voluptuous Stiletto—wonder if it will clump more than the original?
