I’ve been known to be a bit of a drama queen, but when I say that something has changed my life, I mean it. Case in point: TiVo. My husband. Uggs. Trader Joe’s. A merino wool sweater/wrap thingy that looks really chic but feels like I’m wearing an Snuggie. And, this Kiehl’s Rice & Wheat Volumizing Shampoo:
Let’s just look at it for a moment. So pretty.
I know I speak for many of you when I say that finding volumizing products that actually work is nothing short of a miracle. Although I recently fell in love with Living Proof Full, I hadn’t yet found a shampoo that plumped AND smoothed my strands without weighing them down—no small feat I realize, but really? With all of the beauty products on the market, I have to search for a good SHAMPOO? I shudder to think how many I’ve tried only once before relegating to the guest bathroom. But after three consecutive good hair days (read: full, thick, manageable) of using this golden-hued elixir, I knew I had something. The secret ingredients: HONEY for hydrating, and WHEAT & RICE PROTEINS for body. And the scent! Fresh roses. There’s also a conditioner, which pretty much means I’m calling off the dogs.

You should try It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Spray. I feel like I have someone else’s silky, shiny, smooth, lustrous hair on my head. It really is miraculous!

VOLUME?! Sign me up! Thanks for the tip, Bets!
Thanks so much for talking about it. I haven’t found a shampoo that would really help with volume so I think I will try this one. If you say it has changed your life I believe you and I hope it will change mine as well.
i went out and got these after i read your review. and i love them!! smell so good and leave my hair feeling great – even in it’s over processed state. thanks for the tip.
Karen, I’m so glad you like! Thanks for letting me know!
OK… it took me a while to go out and buy, but OMG it is AMAZING! I used it this morning and my hair had volume, was super soft and shiny and most of all was completely managable. Totally agree that it is a life changer. My fine hair thanks you!
Yay! I know you already have gorgeous hair, Stacey, so for this to improve upon it is fab.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I also bought the Conditioner and Super Thick Volumizer. Volume and softness. Thanks for the recommendation!
Steph, I know, right? I need to re-stock my own supply!

I just want you to know that I recently bought this shampoo/conditioner for myself and it changed my life, too! My hair is fuller — and softer — than ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (And my hair thanks you, too. :D)
Yay! That makes my day :) Thanks for letting me know, Annie!

Ordered my Kiehls Rice and wheat and I cant wait to receive it after all of these reviews!! Question – is this a safe shampoo for my color treated hair?
@bernadette: good question! I would say proceed with caution. Colored hair does best with sulfate-free products that don’t strip the hair. Also, volumizing products tend to be deeper cleansing, which can be hard on colored hair. I would try Wen or Sojourn!

I have short, color processed hair and can’t go a day without washing it because it is sticking up all over the place when I get up in the morning. For you, I would recommend the Shielo Volume Shampoo. Its EXCELLENT at protecting the colored hair, and it has worked great to keep the volume in my hair without adding any build up.
