My husband introduced me to Mint Julep Face Masque by Queen Helene from Walgreens. It costs about $4, feels like I’m putting really slippery mud on my face, which appeals to the child in me, and cleans out my skin. This is one of the ways I knew my husband was the one for me: we went on a camping trip where he brought facial supplies like the masque and heated up water for our washcloths over a fire that he started. He was and is one in a million!
Loreal tube mascara. It’s the only thing that I’ve found that doesn’t run, smear or make me look like a raccoon.
Did you see how the sales of false eyelashes are up?!?!? Bat away! http://bit.ly/bYlDvC
Petroleum jelly. When I had a cold in the winter and went through a box of tissues in a week, putting this stuff on my raw nose at night allowed me to stave off a dry, peeling schnoz.
Mabykline Unstoppable Eyeliner – works well to darken eyebrows a bit too. About $4.00 at Target
chicken poop lip balm. no joke…it is great stuff (with a funny name!)
I adore the $1 nail polishes by N.Y.C. at Target. They are perfect when you are looking to try a bold shade for a night! Bonus: The polishes last FOREVER.
I love your eye lashes. A fabulous solution for the dry, peeiling schoz is Votre Vu’s Luxee Yeux Beauty Eye Balm. I swear by it for my eyes and fine lines on my face but super moisturizing for the troubled areas. Works for me.
Alexandra, that is SUCH a great idea. I will try anything once for $1!
Purpose face wash. Never fails to make my face feel soooo clean. I’ve been using it for almost 20 years. And I’m only 30!
Self tanning body lotion. I’m using Jergens right now — would love to know what inexpensive drugstore brand you think is the best — but I just like feeling like I might not look so incredibly pale in a few weeks when I start wearing skirts again!
Jergens is a good one. I also like Neutrogena’s self tanner for body – looks golden, not orangey!
I woke up one morning a couple of weeks ago and I realized that about three of my eyelashes were completely gone on one of my eyes, leaving a significant gap on my eyelashes. Applying eyeliner helped disguise it but I desperately need eyelashes in that gap. Is that possible to fill a gap?
Yes it is possible to fill the gap with eyelash extensions. I would recommend using the mink lashes because they are more like your own lashes with the texture and weight unlike the synthetic or silk lashes.
I have found that combining two mascaras, last blast fusion and volume exact by cover girl, you can get beautiful long and full eye lashes. I have been complimented many times about the fullness and length of my lashes. Walgreens will usually base their sales on coupons that will be coming out in the local newspapers and by combining the coupon with the sale you can get make-up at great prices!
