Fashion Week is here—and for some of us it’s not all about the clothes! I got a sneak-peek at the essentials that the MAC makeup artists are using backstage. These are the tools and products that, come smokey-eye or fuschia-lip trend, the pros keep in their kits at all time. They are also fantastic staples for anyone’s makeup arsenal—I use several on a daily basis. As with all MAC products, these formulas are potent, pigmented, and the prices are spot-on. Love it!

Ah! I’m so happy to see a post like this! As someone who can’t walk by a MAC counter without trying, touching, and playing with their product, it’s nice to see what I should focus on the next time I’m at Nordstroms.
Brush #187 is a MUST have! I use it for applying blush (MAC Springsheen), and it creates the perfect glow. Another great plus is that if you accidentally apply too much, you can easily buff away the excess color. MAC brushes last FOREVER, and I’ve definitely received more than my money’s worth with this one.
I don’t have as many positives to say about the Zoom Lash Mascara… The mascara in the tube was great, but after only three applications the brush began to completely fall apart. I’m now using the Studio Fix Lash and am much happier.
Anxious to try the Strobe Cream and looking forward to reading more about Fashion Week!
Happy to assist any trip to the makeup counter
But I really appreciate the second-opinion. I prob won’t even bother with the Zoomlash when there are so many other great mascaras out there. As for the Strobe Cream: You are going to LOVE it. I use a foundation brush to apply it to my upper cheek bone, on top of my foundation. It’s like a temporary fountain of youth!
I’m so going to make a pit stop at the Mac counter this weekend! Curious to know if you have a tinted bronzer/moisturizer recommendation? I recently returned to my blonde roots and hate the washed-out winter feeling?
One product that does both is a tall order, but if you can mosy down to Sephora instead, I recommend Josie Maran’s Bronzing Argan Oil. Just add a few drops to your foundation or wear alone for tons of moisture and a natural glow. I will do a roundup of more products that banish mid-winter skin woes next week!
