As a girl growing up in bulls-eye country, there was nothing more exciting then trolling Target’s beauty aisles, babysitting money tucked neatly inside my LeSportsac. Back then I collected CoverGirl Lipslicks Lipgloss (something about the citrusy scent was addictive), and splurged on Sally Hansen’s French manicure kit. Oh, and I couldn’t get enough of Mood lipstick. Remember that stuff? It’s been awhile since I’ve spent serious time in Target Beauté—I tend to grab my cleanser or mascara and go—but recently lingered long enough to notice that the section is looking rather nice. There’s this Lip ID Color Adapt Gloss ($20) from model/make-up artist Jemma Kidd, a very chic upgrade to my Mood. For a lit-from-within glow I love Sonia Kashuk’s Super Sheer Liquid Tint ($10)—available in stores only—because it really stays put in the heat and looks so pretty on my vanity. A little birdie I’ll call Target Media Relations also told me that the company has expanded its “natural and organic” offerings, or products free synthetic ingredients like parabens and sodium laurel sulfates. The best of the bunch is the Weleda Body Oil Essentials Kit ($16), a sampler of six soothing, balancing, and deeply rejuvenating oils. Keep a set on hand for visitors or individual hostess gifts. Available at Target in October, or here now.

For “my generation,” it was the hot new (at the time) Jane cosmetics and Lip Smackers “Vanilla Frosting” lipgloss. I still have a tube for a stroll down memory lane.
I really need a new blush (other than benetint.). Should I try Kashuk’s super sheer tint or Stila’s Convertible Color (which I think I’ve used before, but can’t remember)???
Hi Sara . . .Stila Convertible Color is hands-down my favorite blush. I collect them, mix them, and layer them with powder blush for extra staying-power. This is the stuff of dreams for pale people! Try it in Fuschia if you want a pinker, cooler flush then Benetint, or Poppy if you prefer a true red.
I can’t get enough of Target either!! That store will suck the life out of my wallet if I let it. Have you tried their Boots range yet? All their products are phenomenal, but their Original Beauty line is the best (plus, the packaging is super cute…)!
Well the average person spends $100 at Target so you are not alone! Have you tried Boots Restore & Renew Beauty Serum? Madonna is supposedly a fan and it’s all the rage in the UK.
