The jury might be out on a universal health care bill, but I’m 100 percent in favor of the first Lady’s new short and oh-so-shiny bob. Love, love, LOVE IT. Reminds me of the formal occasions when she’s swept her hair back and under, emphasizing her amazing cheek bones and toned shoulders. And because she has some shorter, wispy pieces in front, the cut doesn’t look like a mushroom, helmet, or mullet—unlike one former yellow-pantsuit-wearing First. I don’t know what prompted the cut (obviously), but as someone who’s dealt with a layered lob, my guess is that she wanted something easier to style and less distracting. Now there’ll be fewer conversations from the makeup chair about whether to blow the bangs up or down, flip the ends or round brush them under, put everything up or wear it down, etc. That said, I’m looking forward to any variations her stylist might come up with. I vote for one of Bethany Lorelle’s chic, feathered headbands, not butterfly barrettes.

Thanks for the shout out! I love Michelle Obama’s new bob. Wonder if I should send a headband to her!

You totally should! She always seems to be pulling her hair back. You could even name it after her: The Michelle!
Bethany and Bets, I just wish she would go natural and not so straight! Man, do I have a product for her natural curls!
I love the new hair, looks very good and stylish. I must say I’am in love with Michelle and her style. She’s an inspiration to me and it is a pleasure to watch her play with fashion.
